Mohnish is the only son of the famous Indian Actress Nutan and Lieutenant-Commander Rajnish Bahl. Mohnish’s mother Nutan died of Breast Cancer, and he missed his father in a Fire Accident in his flat in, Mumbai.
He is the one son of his parents and has no siblings. He is a respected member of the Mukherjee-Samarth family. He is the nephew of famous actress Tanuja and cousin of Bollywood popular actresses Kajol Devgan and Tanisha Mukherjee.
Mohnish is married to the 90s actress Ektaa Bahl. She ports her acting career after marriage and kids. Ekta Bahl has perform in movies like Tahalkaa, Nazar Ke Saamne, Vaah Life ho to Aisi.

Mohnish begin his career with the film Bekaraar in the year 1983, but he became popular after playing a villain character in the film Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989.
After this movie, his career transformed and he became an in-required villain and R. Barjatya movies. Mohnish has also made his name in the Television Industry in India.
He Debut on Indian Television was the TV Serial Isi Bahane on DD National in 1988-1989. After that, he played a negative role in TV Serial Devi in 2002-2004 At same time, during 2002-2005 he also played Dr. Shashank Gupta in Sanjeevani.
